Another poem

“The tables have turned now,
               haven’t they?”

Around in circles,
               going nowhere.

Everything changes;
yet so much is the same.

“I’m impossible,
I’m a mess,”
                I say.
“Come love me!”

Yet nothing is ever good enough.
No one is ever good enough.

Yet You came.
               In perfection, complete.

You tell me you love me
               on top of a mountain.
               High.

From here there is nowhere to go
               but down.

Left in crushing loneliness-
No one told me this was coming.

Grasping at straws-
Empty.

(Only You can satisfy my inner needs.)

A Blog in the Life of Pictures

I have a goal this year to take at least one picture every day and blog the highlights here.

January 1, 2010: starting the new year off right

Some poems I wrote at the One Thing coference

Sing to me
In the forest of hills
with the ice
running over the cliffs

I am nothing

Sing to me
In the bright red soil
with the acacias
shading over our skin

I have nothing

Sing to me
In the sand and waves
with the lighthouse
shining over the waves

You are everything

~

God is jealous
His eyes burn like fire
They do not turn away

He loves me
As a pure spotless bride
As a precious daughter of the King

He created me
Just the way I am
He does not want me any other way

He is love
He is all that matters
He wants to be first in my heart

He changes everything
All else will fade away
Only love remains
